Me Daniel Brook is a hard working and dedicated litigator.

His primary areas of practice are family law, commercial shareholder disputes and general civil responsibility.

He thrives under pressure and uses his background in business to offer his clients practical methods to solve sometimes complex problems. When developing unique strategies in each file, Me Brook takes into consideration the client's budget and ability to withstand the pressure of trial litigation and custom tailors a plan to each client’s individual needs.

Me Brook started Brook Legal Inc. in 2012 almost immediately after finishing his six month articling position at a boutique Montreal law firm.

Brook Legal Inc has grown from a solo practice to a bourgeoning firm that now has 5 lawyers and 2 articling students.

It has grew to a family business when Me Brook’s brother Me Joseph Brook joined as a partner in the firm in 2017.

Their sister Amanda Brook is the dedicated office manager and youngest brother David is now currently writing the Quebec Bar Exam.

Brook Legal Inc. is proud to employ between 1-3 law students from university each summer to help mentor the next generation of aspiring jurists.

Me Brook also enjoys playing softball and follows hockey, football and baseball and ensures the firm sponsors a variety of local softball and hockey teams as a gesture of thanks to the community.

Me Joseph Brook, barreau 2017, graduated from Yeshiva University’s Sy Sym School of business cum Laude in 2009 and from the Universite de Montreal in 2015.

Me Joseph Brook is passionate about defending his clients’ rights and works tirelessly to ensure his clients receive the legal representation they require.

Me Joseph Brook was the proud winner of his softball league’s rookie of the year award and is a 3-time champion in his recreational hockey league.

She specializes in Canadian immigration law and civil and commercial litigation. She serves a client base comprised mainly of SMBs based in Quebec and abroad. She is often called to provide legal services to companies doing businesses both in Canada and in China. She also provides counsels to clients regarding their temporary or permanent establishment in Canada.

Having practiced in the legal profession for several years, Ms. Yang realized that in addition to asserting her clients’ legal rights, she could also be part of the solution in resolving their conflicts. With this in mind, she recently completed courses leading to accreditation as mediator in Civil and Commercial Mediation. Her goal is to help individuals and businesses resolve their conflicts in the shortest possible time and in a cost-effective manner. This means even before the commencement of any legal proceedings in order to find alternative ways to resolve the disputes at hand.

Prior to obtaining her Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree from Sherbrooke University, Ms. Yang obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University. Her scientific background helped to develop her logical and analytical spirit when dealing with her legal files.

She became a member of the Barreau du Quebec in 2011. She is also a member of the Quebec Association of Immigration Lawyers (AQAADI).

Ms. Yang is fluent in French, English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Me Benliang Ye

Me Benliang Ye is an associate in our Chinese legal department in Brook Legal Inc. He joined Brook Legal in early 2019 as an intern and subsequently completed his articles at the firm in July 2019. Me Ye advises on general corporate law, civil and commercial litigation, family law as well as real estate law.

Me Ye has been involved in a wide variety of transactions, corporation reorganizations, advised and assisted various companies and individuals, particularly our increasing Chinese clients, on an array of civil and commercial law disputes, guided clients with regard to matters related to the commercial lease and the rental board.

In his practice, Me Ye has developed extensive experience in drafting various agreements and corporate documents, different proceedings and counselling in the context of civil and commercial litigation.

In addition to his license to practice law in Quebec, Me Ye has obtained a bachelor’s degree in law at the East China University of Political Science and Law. He has also obtained a master’s degree in international business law.

Me Ye practices law in English, French and Chinese.

Elle se spécialise en droit de l’immigration canadienne et en litige civil et commercial. Sa clientèle consiste principalement des PME basées au Québec et à l’étranger. Elle est souvent appelée à fournir des services juridiques aux entreprises faisant affaires au Canada et en Chine. Elle assiste également les clients dans leur établissement temporaire ou permanent au Canada.

Ayant pratiqué comme avocate pendant plusieurs années, Me Yang a réalisé qu’en plus de pouvoir faire valoir les droits légaux de ses clients à la cour, elle pourrait également faire partie active de la solution en devenant médiatrice accréditée. Dans cet esprit, elle a récemment complété des cours en médiation civile et commerciale et obtiendra bientôt ses accréditations. Elle désire aider les individus et les entreprises à résoudre leurs conflits dans les plus brefs délais et avec les moindres des coûts possibles.

Avant d’obtenir son diplôme de baccalauréat en droit (LL.B.) de l’Université de Sherbrooke, Me Yang a obtenu un baccalauréat en science de l’Université McGill. Sa formation en sciences a contribué à son sens critique et analytique dans la gestion de ses dossiers légaux.

Elle est membre du Barreau du Québec depuis 2011. Elle est aussi membre de l’Association des avocats(es) en immigration du Québec.

Me Yang maîtrise parfaitement le français, l’anglais et le chinois (mandarin).

Me Garance Paradis-Lemaire

Me Garance Paradis-Lemaire joined Brook Legal Inc. in 2020 after having completed her articling with the firm.

Me Paradis-Lemaire completed her civil law degree at the Université de Montréal.

During her studies in law, she completed an internship with a judge of the Court of Quebec.

Her practice focuses primarily on family law, civil litigation and penal law.

Me Paradis-Lemaire is a firm believer that everyone should have access to justice and works frequently with clients under legal aid mandates.

In addition to her legal career, Me Paradis-Lemaire practices and teaches equitation.

Me Lauren Port obtained her Civil Law degree (LL.L) from the University of Ottawa in 2019. She successfully completed the Québec Bar Exams and finished her stage with extraordinary performance to become a lawyer in 2020.

During her studies, Lauren participated in many conferences regarding children’s rights and was a member of the Faculty of Law’s Equity Committee. Both during and after her studies, she worked at the Gatineau Courthouse as a Greffier Adjointe / Greffière Audiencière.

Lauren is Fluent in both English and French.
